How can I analyse the engagement results of my team?

When your organisation has conducted engagement surveys through Dialog, you as a manager have insights in the results of your team(s). You can see the results by clicking on 'Team' in the top bar, and then on 'Engagement' on the left. On this page you see a dashboard where you can see the results and analyse these for each survey that has been conducted.

Overall scores, filters and exports

The scores in the dashboard lie between 0 and 100 and these scores turn red below 65. Not because this is insufficient, but because it gives you quick insight into the themes or questions which you can improve most.

The eNPS score is calculated differently and lies between -100 and +100. A negative eNPS is coloured red and a positive eNPS is coloured green. In this article, you can read how the eNPS is calculated.

You can also create an export the results. If you click 'Export', an Excel sheet is downloaded with the results, based on the selected filters. You can use this, for example for an overview of all written comments per question, or calculate the average grade of the eNPS (this often gives extra context to the eNPS score).

At the top of the dashboard, you can see the overall scores, based on the selected filters. You can filter the dashboard by survey, by teams, and by functions.

  • Engagement: here you can see the total engagement score of your team(s)
  • eNPS: here you can see the total eNPS score of your team(s)
  • Participation: here you can see how many of your employees filled in the survey

Furthermore, you can also see the overall scores per theme. If you click on one or more themes, the overview below is filtered based on the selected themes.

Analysing results

You can analyse the results in depth using the various overviews. You can see the results in a heatmap, by theme, by question, and by answer. You can find the most valuable insights if you set the overview on Per question. Below is an explanation of how to use these overviews.

If you have insights into the results of multiple teams, you can filter on the teams you want to see the results of.

The results are always displayed anonymously. In this article you can read how anonymity is ensured in Dialog.

Per question

If you set the overview by question, you will see all the questions asked in the survey and their corresponding scores. By clicking on the heading 'Score', you sort the overview from high to low and if you click on it again from low to high. This allows you to quickly see on which topics your team excels, and where you can make the most progress. This is extremely valuable when you are deciding which topics you want to focus on and improve with your team.

When you click on a question, a screen opens where you can see the written comments your employees have given. This gives you additional context about why employees gave a certain score and helps you think about improvements.

Because the results are displayed anonymously, you don't know which employee wrote which comment. Sometimes you don't know how to interpret something or you so badly just want to have a conversation with this colleague. But you have no idea who it is. That's why you have the option to respond anonymously to the comments employees have written. This way, you can still talk to employees without them having to expose themselves completely.

Heatmap

If you have insights in the results of several teams, the heatmap shows an overview of the scores per team. Using the colours, you can quickly see if there are themes that need attention for specific teams. Again, clicking on an area opens a screen with your employees' comments on that theme.

If you click on a theme at the top of the overview, the heatmap will show you the results per sub-theme of your teams.

Per theme

If you set the overview to by theme, you see the results off all themes that are questioned. You can unfold the themes to see the scores per sub-theme and even the scores per question. Again, when you click on a theme or question, you can see the corresponding comments.

Per answer

Finally, you can also get an overview with all answers in one screen. By default, you only see the answers with a comment, but you can also set the overview to show all answers, including those without a comment. That way, you can also respond to answers without comments.
