How do I manage the career path of a job profile?

In this article you will read how to add job suggestions (career advancement opportunities) to a position. This way, employees see which positions are a logical next step from their current position while setting goals.

Please note: you can only set up career paths if you have purchased the Talent module. If it is not yet visible in your Dialog environment, we can activate it for you. Please contact our support team for this.

Preparation

To start pinning relevant job positions, it is important to determine in advance the most obvious career advancement opportunities for a position.

  1. Click on 'Management'.
  2. Click on 'Functions'.
  3. Click on the position for which you want to set up the career path.
  4. Go to the 'Career Path' tab.
  5. Click on '+ Link Position' and choose the position you want to show as a career advancement opportunity. Repeat this for every position you want to link.
  6. Determine the order by dragging the linked positions (drag & drop). The position at the top is shown first to the employee.
  7. Click on the pin icon to mark the position that is most relevant.

Activating Career Paths for the Organisation

Once the client has reviewed the career paths, they can also be activated for the employees. To do this, you need to do two things:

  1. Activate the career paths in the intake settings (evaluation cycles → under 'goal setting').
  2. Enable job suggestions when creating the personal plan in the team settings. You can find this in the settings of the highest team in the organisation.
